Establishing a wireless network is only laying the foundations. It's what you build on top ofthe infrastructure that makes the difference.
Konnex Networks provide a range of wireless applications that utilise the infrastructure. Here are just some of the applications that we can provide.
User Authentication
Many wireless networks rely on a WEP key or pass phrase as the security mechanism. The Multi Access Service Platform from Konnex Networks uses a Radius AAA security mechanism to make the wireless network as secure as any other form of network and enable a range of security options to be deployed, including WPA and MAC Address authentication. We can also authenticate users against their own corporate database, such as Active Directory and LDAP.
VoIP
Once the wireless network is in place, we can provide users with VoIP systems, including an IP PBX without the need to re-authenticate. Once users are authenticated onto the system, they are able to access and use all of the services that they have subscribed for and view those services that they might want to subscribe to.
Video Conferencing
The MASP system uses a SIP-based video conferencing system that integrates IP video conferencing systems with other conventional conferencing systems such as H.323 as well as High Definition conferencing systems. In addition, the system includes data collaboration tools to enable multipile users to see, speak and work with each other online and from any location.
File Sharing
The wireless network can be used for Peer-to-Peer systems such as file sharing e.g. for photo libraries or virtual organisations. Secure access is required to ensure that unauthorised use is not permitted whilst making it easy for authorised users to use common file systems as if they were on the same LAN
Backup and Recovery Services
Using the WiMAX service, Konnex Networks is able to offer organisations a complete backup service that includes off-site data storage and recovery. The system can utilise the WiMAX connection to save data to a remote server without clogging up the existing Internet feed and without going over any of the same network route.
