In many schools and colleges, students are increasingly using mobile devices for learning, such as PDAs and iPADs. Konnex Networks provides a  wireless solution that overlays onto the existing network infrastructure and requires no ongoing administration by school staff. The system authenticates users against the institution's existing student management system and if authorised, connects them wirelessly to the network. No separtate user administration is therefore required.  Policy decisions are established at the outset about whether internal or exterrnal network access is permissable and permissions for users can be assigned separately for groups.

In addition, the system can also securley manage access for users wishing to access learning resources remotely e.g for homework out of hours. Users wishing to gain access to the resources over the web are authenticated in a similiar manner and only authorised users are permitted access
